On February 9, 2022, apolice team comprising SI Akash, HC Krishan, Const. Sanjay and Const. Umesh were patrolling in the area, reached near BS Park, Yamuna Vihar.
“At about 11:30 PM during vehicle checking on picket they noticed that two persons riding on Apache motorcycle were coming from Zayka Restaurant side but seeing police team, they made a U-turn in a bid to escape but the alert police team chased and nabbed both of them along with motorcycle,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North East District, New Delhi, said.
He added, “Motorcycle rider was asked for documents related to the ownership of the motorcycle but he could not provide. On checking the motorcycle found to be stolen from the area of Jafrabad vide e-FIR No. 03308/22 dated 08/02/22 u/s 379 IPC, PS Jafrabad, Delhi.”
On cursory search, one mobile phone Oppo was recovered from the possession of motorcycle rider and one button actuated knife was recovered from pillion rider. Accordingly, a case was registered and the investigation was taken up.
During the course of the investigation, their identity was established as Mohd Inayat and Naushad. The mobile phone, recovered from Mohd. Inayat, was found to be robbed from Bhajanpura, Delhi. They confessed to their crime and revealed their involvement in multiple cases of snatching/robbery.
On interrogation, they disclosed that on the night of February 8, they along with their third accomplice namely Adnan stole the motorcycle from the area of Jafrabad. Later, they robbed a person of his mobile phone in Vijay Park, main gali by chocking his throat.
Sincere efforts are on to nab the third accomplice Adnan. Further investigation in the case is in progress.
