Earlier, the Chief Minister proposed to install a statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in the Punjab Legislative Assembly, on which Partap Singh Bajwa of Congress said that Sher-e-Punjab Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh should also have a statue which was accepted by the Chief Minister. The proposal to install statues of Bhagat Singh, Ambedkar and Maharaja Ranjit Singh was passed unanimously.
