Bhagalpur News: JDU MLA Gopal Mandal's son arrested, SIT takes action

In Bhagalpur, JDU MLA Gopal Mandal's difficulties have increased in the firing case at Hotel Big Daddy regarding land dispute. The MLA's son and hotel owner Ashish Mandal has been arrested by the SIT and taken to court custody. Ashish Mandal was arrested from Bhagalpur's mayor candidate Savita Devi's office in Barari Housing Board. Savita Devi is the mother of Ashish Mandal. Ashish Mandal alias Tinku, son of Gopalpur JDU MLA Narendra Kumar Neeraj alias Gopal Mandal, is accused in the firing that took place on Monday, December 12, in the Big Daddy Hotel premises in the land dispute. MLA Gopal Mandal has also been made an accused in this case. In the Fard statement of injured property dealer Lal Bahadur Singh alias Laddu Shastri, there is mention of firing on the orders of JDU MLA from Gopalpur Narendra Kumar Neeraj and threats in the past. In this case, the name of the MLA Mandal has also been added as an accused later.

On December 11, Sunday, the conversation between MLA Gopal Mandal and property dealer Laddu Shastri over the construction of a boundary wall on the said land had reached tension. After this, on Monday, Laddu Shastri reached the spot with his supporters and demolished the boundary wall built by the MLA there claiming his land.

On getting information about this, the restaurant staff and relatives including MLA's son also reached the spot. During this, a fight started between the two sides after an argument. When the fighting escalated, it came to the point of firing and fatal attack. Laddu Shastri, his wife Madhuri Prasad, Ravi Kumar alias Sharad Yadav and son were injured in this attack. Of these, the seriously injured Ravi was referred to Siliguri for intensive treatment.
