Bengaluru Stampede: RCB Marketing Head Arrested on CM’s Orders, Alleges Lawyer
RCB's main official Nikhil Sosale was arrested last week in relation to the cases taking place following the Bengaluru stampede.

Bengaluru Stampede: RCB’s marketing head said on Monday that he was arrested by the Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah’s direction because of the stampede incident.
At their hearing before the Karnataka high courts, lawyers stated that Nikhil Sosale’s arrest was not given a proper justification by officials.
The petitioner argued that Cubbon Park Police could not have made the arrest as the Bengaluru stampede case had been transferred to the CID.

"In our cases arrest has taken at 4.30 am and not by Cubbon park but by CCB at the airport. This arrest has not happened on the basis of any investigation but on orders of the CM," the lawyer told Karnataka HC.
The Attorney General said, after the hearing, that Sosale cannot get interim bail before the high court finds that his arrest was unlawful.
In the wake of the stampede, Nikhil Sosale, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Marketing and Revenue Head, as well as the officials of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) President Raghu Ram Bhat and Secretary A Shankar were arrested by Bengaluru police. On June 6, the four men accused in the crime were put under judicial custody for 14 days.
Karnataka High Court to hear plea filed by RCB, DNA Ent on June 10
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have filed a petition on Monday, June 4 in the Karnataka High Court seeking to get the criminal case against it in the stampede incident cancelled.
In the petition, RCSL states that it has been wrongly accused in this case. RCB owner's have also alleged that the stadium gates, which were supposed to open at 1.45pm, actually opened at 3PM, causing a crowd surge. The research by RCSL shows that how the police handled the crowd was the cause of the incident.

DNA Entertainment Pvt Ltd has also filed for a petition to have the complaint annulled. According to the petition submitted by the company, the incident happened since the police did not manage the crowd properly. It was further mentioned that there were more police officers at Vidhana Soudha than there were at the stadium.
The Karnataka High Court is set to the petitions filed by the two organisations on Tuesday.
Bengaluru Stampede 11 Fatalities
11 people lost their lives and many were injured in a stampede situation outside the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. The stampede resulted from the large gathering to celebrate RCB's first IPL title in 18 years.
The celebration turned fatal, with about eight lakh fans in and outside the stadium which has a capacity of only 35,000 fans.
