Information and technology stalwart TV Mohandas Pai has said that the devastation caused by heavy rains in Bengaluru is a result of various factors including poor governance, high corruption and lack of urban reforms. Pai, a former chief financial officer of IT major Infosys Ltd, on the floods in parts of Bengaluru after two days of torrential rains, said political leaders and bureaucrats have let people down.
Pai said, “The result of government ineffectiveness, poor governance and more corruption. Money is allocated but poor work is done because of high corruption. Lack of corporation's capabilities and illegal construction, the list is huge." "It also reflects the lack of urban reforms in all our cities over the past 30 years," he said.
