Bengaluru Fire Incident: 45-year-old BMTC conductor burnt to death while sleeping in bus
According to DCP Laxman B Nimbargi, a BMTC bus at Sumanahalli bus depot caught fire. Bus driver Prakash (39) first noticed the incident at around 4.45 am.

A 45-year-old bus conductor died after a massive fire broke out in a bus parked at the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus stand in Lingadheeranahalli. The police informed about the incident on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Muthiah Swamy.
According to DCP Laxman B Nimbargi, a BMTC bus at Sumanahalli bus depot caught fire. Bus driver Prakash (39) first noticed the incident at around 4.45 am.
DCP Laxman said that Prakash, the bus driver parked the vehicle at D Group stop around 10:30 pm on Thursday and went to sleep in a toilet at the bus stop and the conductor slept in the bus.The DCP said that the conductor suffered 80 per cent burns. The cause of the fire is yet to be known. DCP Laxman said that earlier today, another fire broke out at a plastic bottles and other scrap storage place in Pramod Layout area under Byatarayanapura police station at around 12 am.
A total of eight fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the fire, the DCP said. According to police officials, there was no report of any other casualty.
