Bengaluru Court Orders FIR Against Nirmala Sitharaman: Bengaluru Special Court orders FIR against Nirmala Sitharaman for extortion case through electoral bonds. Adarsh Iyer of Janaadhikara Sangharsha Sanghatane (JSP) has filed the complaint against Nirmala Sitharaman and others for running an extortion racket in the name of electoral bonds.

A complaint filed in Bengaluru has named Nirmala Sitharaman, JP Nadda, Naleen Kumar Kateel and BY Vijayendra of Karnataka BJP. The complaint says corporate entities were forced to buy electoral bonds worth thousands of crores, citing ED raids as a pressure tactic.

These electoral bonds were cashed by BJP leaders at national and state level.

The complaint says the electoral bonds scheme was used to collect illegal funds for political purposes and Nirmala Sitharaman and other senior BJP leaders were involved in it.

BJP has defended Nirmala Sitharaman, disconnected itself from the allegations. The party said the charges are political and electoral bonds is a policy matter not a criminal one. BJP also attacked Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah over MUDA case.

"Mr Siddaramaiah is a habitual offender when it comes to cooperating with the investigation agencies. There were 106 cases against Congress leaders, and among those, 64 were absolutely on Mr Siddaramaiah when he was the Chief Minister of Karnataka the last time," said Dr Sudha Halkai, BJP spokesperson.

"Addressing a press conference after the Mysore district progress review meeting yesterday. The Court of People's Representatives has issued an order to file an FIR against Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in connection with the electoral bond scam."

"When will the leaders protest and march for her resignation, Karnataka BJP? If there is an impartial investigation into this case, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also have to resign. Let Kumaraswamy, who is on bail, also resign," he wrote in an X post.

Siddaramaiah, under pressure due to MUDA land allotment case FIR, asked why senior leaders like Nirmala Sitharaman and former CM HD Kumaraswamy, who are also facing corruption probe, are not asked to resign.

He said if he has to go, same should apply to Nirmala Sitharaman and other BJP leaders who have FIRs against them.

Lokayukta police have filed FIR against Siddaramaiah, his wife and other family members in MUDA site allotment case.
