Many gunny bags have also got buried in the pile of debris. Therefore, the possibility of people getting buried inside cannot be ruled out. BCCL management and administration officials have reached the spot.

RK Nayak, manager of Damagodia Colliery, says that this mine was closed a year and a half ago. People in the vicinity have been informed, many have been called and asked. Despite this, no one has been reported missing so far. We raid here from time to time but people do not desist from illegal mining.
