Gwalior District and Sessions Court has issued a bailable warrant against former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh in a contempt case. In Bhind, Digvijay Singh had made objectionable remarks against the people of Bajrang Dal and BJP. A hearing on this matter is to be held on 24 September in the Gwalior District Court.
The petition filed regarding the matter was to be heard on July 23, but Congress leader Digvijay Singh was told that he was unable to appear in the court due to political engagement. On this objection was lodged by the advocate Awadhesh of his opposing side. Hearing on which former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has been summoned by the court with a bailable warrant.
It is worth noting that in the previous by-elections in Bhind, Digvijay Singh had made objectionable remarks against the people of Bajrang Dal and BJP. Former CM Digvijay Singh had said about the supporters of Bajrang Dal and BJP that all are involved in anti-national activities. He even described the BJP as a spy of Al Qaeda. Regarding this, a lawyer from Gwalior had filed a private istagasa to file a defamation suit. Due to this, a bailable warrant was issued against former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh. Now this family will be heard in the district court on September 24.
