Bad news for government employees, government gave important information in Parliament on 8th Pay Commission

If Central Government employees are waiting for their salary increase through Pay Commission (8th Central Pay Commission), then there is no good news for them. In fact, the Central Government has told in Parliament that the proposal to set up the 8th Pay Commission is not yet under consideration. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary told the Lok Sabha on Monday that there is no proposal under consideration with the government to set up the 8th Central Pay Commission for central government employees.

The minister was asked whether the government proposes to ensure timely constitution of the 8th Central Pay Commission for central government employees so that it can be implemented on January 1, 2026. At least 7 pay commissions have been constituted since 1947. After every ten years, the central government creates a pay commission to revise the salary structure of government employees. The 7th Central Pay Commission was reportedly set up by the Government of India on February 28, 2014.
