BJP MP Urges Salman Khan to Apologize to Bishnoi Community
BJP MP on Salman Khan Bishnoi community: Following the death of NCP senior leader and veteran Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique on Saturday night. A BJP MP told Bollywood actor Salman Khan to apologize to the Bishnoi community for the black buck incident that occurred around 20 years ago.
Rajya Sabha MP Harnath Singh Yadav added that black buck is very important and holds cultural significance for the Bishnoi community.
According to the reports, a black buck was illegally hurt when Salman Khan and his co-stars were shooting the film Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan forests in 1998. Khan who was found guilty was sentenced to five years imprisonment in the case.

Harnath Singh said quoted by IANS, "Some 23-24 years ago, Salman Khan went to Rajasthan for the shooting of a film. He went hunting and killed a black buck. The blackbuck is worshipped in the Bishnoi community, and its killing left the community furious.”
He also added, “The best way to end this is to repent and apologise. Apologising does not diminish a person's status; it enhances it.”
The MP earlier in a tweet on Sunday advised Khan to respect the Bishnoi community sentiments and apologize.
In the tweet, he wrote, "Dear Salman Khan, the Bishnoi community worships the blackbuck as a deity. You hunted it, cooked it, and ate it. The community has been angry for a long time because of this. My good advice is to apologise and make amends.”
