Ayodhya Illegal Land Deal: BJP MLA and Mayor involved in Ayodhya land scam, list of 40 people released

The Ayodhya Development Authority has released a list of 40 people illegally selling land and getting construction done on them. These include Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ved Prakash Gupta. Vishal Singh, vice-chairman of the authority, told the media that a list of 40 people who illegally bought and sold land and got construction work was issued by the authority on Saturday night in the authority area. He said that action will be taken against all these people included in this list.

The names of BJP MLA Ved Prakash Gupta and Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay are also included in the list released by the authority. In response, Gupta and Upadhyay alleged that it was a conspiracy and they were wrongly implicated in the case. The name of Gorakhnath Baba, a former BJP MLA from Milkipur region, is also included in the list. It is worth noting that before the assembly elections held earlier this year, the issue of illegal land purchase and sale in Ayodhya had heated up. Regional MP Lallu Singh had written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding a Special Research Team (SIT) probe into the matter.

When the issue of illegal purchase and sale of land in Ayodhya was heated, the National President of the main opposition party of UP, Samajwadi Party (SP) and former Chief Minister of the state, Akhilesh Yadav had said on this matter in a tweet, "We have said before. , repeating again... BJP's corrupt at least leave Ayodhya." Earlier, in a tweet made by the SP from its official handle, the SP had said, "Sin of BJP workers in Ayodhya! BJP Mayor, Municipal MLA and former MLAs are settling illegal colonies in association with land mafia. 30 illegal till now in connivance with responsible departments." Billions of rupees of revenue were siphoned off to the government by setting up colonies. The matter should be investigated. Action should be taken against the culprits.

Aam Aadmi Party's national spokesperson Sanjay Singh, who raised the matter a few months ago, also reacted to the release of the list by the Ayodhya Development Authority, alleging that the faith of the people of BJP is not in Lord Shri Ram, but in corruption. Singh said in a statement that he was the first to uncover the land scam in the name of Lord Shri Ram and at that time also the name of Ayodhya Mayor Hrishikesh Upadhyay had cropped up. He said that the list of people involved in the land scam which has been released today includes the names of Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay, Ayodhya Nagar BJP MLA Ved Prakash Gupta and former MLA Gorakhnath Baba.
