Assembly membership of SP MLA Abdullah Azam Khan terminated after being punished by the court
Azam Khan's son and MLA from Swar assembly constituency of Rampur district, Abdullah Azam Khan has lost his legislature. After the sentence was pronounced by the Moradabad MP MLA court, action was taken to cancel his membership from the assembly.

Assembly membership of Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party MLA Abdullah Azam Khan has been cancelled. His membership was canceled after he was convicted in a case 15 years ago. Abdullah Azam Khan, son of senior SP leader Azam Khan, is the MLA from Rampur's Swar seat. Azam Khan's son and MLA from Swar assembly constituency of Rampur district, Abdullah Azam Khan has lost his legislature. After the sentence was pronounced by the Moradabad MP MLA court, action was taken to cancel his membership from the assembly.
Abdullah Khan was convicted by the MP MLA court in a 2008 case. In the year 2008, Azam Khan and Abdullah Khan were sentenced for rioting and blocking the road in protest against the car checking being done by the police in Chhajlat area of Moradabad police station.
There were a total of nine accused in the case, out of which seven were acquitted and Abdullah Azam Khan and Mohammad Yad Azam Khan were sentenced. Two years imprisonment and Rs 2000 fine in section 353, one month's sentence and Rs 500 fine in section 341 and six months' imprisonment and Rs 500 fine in seven CLA.
