Assam floods worsened the situation in 4 districts, more than 7 lakh people affected
According to the report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, about 7.12 lakh people are in the grip of floods in 29 districts of the state.

Flood havoc continues in Assam. The flood situation showed slight improvement on Friday, but the situation is still grim in Nagaon, Hojai, Cachar and Darrang districts.
More than 3.36 lakh people have been affected in Nagaon district, while 1.66 lakh people have been affected in Cachar district, 1.11 lakh in Hojai and 52,709 in Darrang district.
Haflong, a beautiful town in Assam's Dima Hasao district, has been devastated by the ongoing floods in the state. The city is facing such damage due to heavy rains lashing the state for the last six days.
A woman told on Friday, 'We have been witnessing floods for six days and have seen the house getting damaged right in front of our eyes. Everything in the city has been destroyed including drinking water, schools and roads. We are also deprived of food and water".
According to the report, 80,036.90 hectares of crop land and 2,251 villages are still under water and a total of 74,705 flood-affected people are currently living in 234 relief camps set up by the district administration.
