Asia Cup 2022: ICC fined India and Pakistan, know why
The ICC has said that 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct has been violated. It is said that both the captains i.e. Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam have accepted their mistake, so there will be no need for further hearing in the matter but in the coming matches, not only India and Pakistan, but all other teams will also have to take care of this, otherwise more strict action can be taken next time.

In their first match of the Asia Cup 2022, the teams of India and Pakistan met face to face on August 28. In this match, Team India defeated Pakistan by five wickets. After defeating this match, Pakistan has gone to the bottom of the points table of the group. Meanwhile, the ICC, taking a big decision, has fined the team of India and Pakistan 40 percent of the match fee. This penalty has been imposed because both the teams did not complete their overs within the stipulated time.
In the match played between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Indian team could not complete its 20 overs in the stipulated time. By the time 20 overs were to be completed, the team could bowl only 18 overs. This was the reason that during that match itself, the umpire instructed the captain to keep five fielders within the circle. Due to this, only four fielders were seen fielding outside the circle. Due to this, Pakistan had added runs rapidly in the last over. After this Team India came to bat. The mistake that Rohit Sharma did, the same Pakistan captain Babar Azam did the same. They also could not bowl their full overs in the stipulated time and they were also asked to keep only four fielders out in the last over, full advantage of this was taken by Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja and scored fast and took Team India by five wickets.
