Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav acquitted in defamation case
Former secretary of Shahdara Bar Association and then Aam Aadmi Party worker Surendra Kumar Sharma had alleged that AAP had approached him in 2013 and asked him to participate in the Delhi Assembly elections on a party ticket, but after that he was accused of making false allegations.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have got a big relief from the court in the defamation case filed by AAP worker Surendra Kumar Sharma. The court has acquitted Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav in this case. In 2013, AAP first made Surendra Sharma a candidate by giving ticket from Shahdara seat. Then his ticket was cut by talking about criminal matters and rigging in the elections of the Bar Association. After this, Surendra Kumar Sharma had filed a defamation case against him.

Filing a defamation complaint, Sharma said that Kejriwal had used derogatory and bad words against him in a report published in leading newspapers on October 14, 2013. Surendra Kumar Sharma had said that this act of Kejriwal and Sisodia had damaged their respect in the Bar Association and society. In fact, Surendra Kumar Sharma was earlier made its candidate by the Aam Aadmi Party from Shahdara seat. Then, citing criminal cases and rigging in the elections of the Bar Association, his ticket was cut. Sharma said that the allegations are baseless and his image has been damaged due to this allegation.
