Arvind Kejriwal led AAP Government presents Budget for Delhi for financial year 2022-23, Sisodia calls it “Rozgar Budget” with an allocation of ₹ 75,800 crores
Today in the Delhi Assembly, Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister presented the budget for New Delhi for the fiscal year 2022-23, with an allocation of ₹ 75,800 crores. In his speech, Sisodia mentioned that Delhi’s economy is recovering and they are optimistic about the growth. He said, "Delhi's economy is recovering gradually from the impact of COVID-19. The budget allocation for 2022-23 is ₹ 75,800 crore."

New Delhi: Today in the Delhi Assembly, Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister presented the budget for New Delhi for the fiscal year 2022-23, with an allocation of ₹ 75,800 crores. In his speech, Sisodia mentioned that Delhi’s economy is recovering and they are optimistic about the growth. He said, "Delhi's economy is recovering gradually from the impact of COVID-19. The budget allocation for 2022-23 is ₹ 75,800 crore."
Last year, for the financial year 2021-22, the budget size was ₹ 69,000 crore. The budget size for 2022-23 is 9.86 percent higher than the previous year. The Deputy CM called this budget the “Rozgar Budget”. Presenting AAP’s eight consecutive budgets, Sisodia, who also holds the portfolio of the Finance Minister of the Union Territory said that in the last seven years, their government has provided government jobs to over 1.78 lakh youth. He also mentioned that 20 lakh new jobs will be created in the next five years. A main part of the “employment budget” is jobs for women. Due to the pandemic, women lost the greatest number of jobs, he said.
According to the budget, Under the ‘Smart Farming Initiative”, 25,000 new jobs will be created specifically for women. In order to promote Delhi as a national and an international brand, with the introduction of “Delhi Film Policy”, the Aam Aadmi Party government has decided to organize an International Film Festival every year, which will be held in Delhi.
Healthcare has also seen a prominent allocation in the budget. The budget allocates ₹9,769 crores for the healthcare sector. Out of the total money promised to the healthcare sector, ₹1900 crore was allocated to remodel 15 existing hospitals and build four new hospitals. To promote the entrepreneurial spirit, the AAP has allocated ₹50 crores for the implementation of the new startup policy.
The budget also contains a fragment in the direction of Climate Change as ₹750 crores has been allocated to revive over 600 lakes and water bodies across Delhi.
