Arunachal Pradesh News: 18 Indian laborers missing from China border in Arunachal Pradesh, 1 dead
A BRO official said on July 3 that a bridge over the Oyong river near Kororu village near the Indo-China border to connect district headquarters Koloring with Damin was washed away in the flash floods.

1 laborer died in an accident in Arunachal Pradesh near India-China border. Along with this 18 other laborers are missing. It is being told that these laborers were working on a road project in Kurung Kume district. Since July 5, nothing of these 19 laborers could be traced. In this case, now the Deputy Commissioner of the district has told that the body of one laborer has been recovered and the search for the remaining 18 laborers is still going on.
The road is being constructed in Damin of Kurung Kume district near the border of India and China. This road project is being carried out under the supervision of the Road Border Organization (BRO). BRO is creating a vast network of infrastructure projects in the North East. Under this, laborers were brought to work in Damin. District Deputy Commissioner Bengia Nighi said that since July 5, 19 laborers working in Damin had gone missing. Most of them are residents of the state of Assam.
Significantly, many areas of the Northeast are facing the brunt of rains and floods these days. Rivers in Arunachal, Assam and Mizoram are in spate after heavy rains. Earlier this month, a bridge connecting two strategically important places in Kurung Kume district of Arunachal was washed away in floods.
