Army Day parade will be held outside Delhi for the first time after 1949
Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January to commemorate the occasion of General (later Field Marshal) KM Cariappa taking over command of the Indian Army from General Sir FRR Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949.

The Army Day Parade to be held in Delhi is going to be held outside the national capital for the first time. The Army Day Parade will be organized at the Parade Ground of MEG & Centre, Bengaluru. The 75th Army Day will be the first of its kind to be held outside Delhi since the celebrations began in 1949. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey will review the parade and present gallantry awards, which will be followed by a daring motorcycle display by Army Service Corps Tornado, skydiving display by paratroopers, daredevil jump and fly past by helicopters of Army Aviation Corps.

Station Commander, Southern Command said that the parade will be held at various field commands in India to facilitate deeper engagement with the society. This year the celebrations will be under the supervision of the Southern Command, which is headquartered in Pune.
Before 2023, the Army Day Parade was held at Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment.Last year, the Indian Air Force also held its annual fly-past and Air Force Day in Chandigarh instead of Hindon Air Base near Delhi.
