Army Chief to Visit Srinagar After Pahalgam Terror Attack: On the heels of the unfortunate terror attack that took place in Pahalgam, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will pay a visit to Srinagar on Friday to review the security in that locality.

In the meantime, an hour after a 30-minute meeting on Thursday among some selected G20 envoy, including from China and Canada, the ministry of external affairs informed them about the attack.

During his tour, the local senior commanders from military formations would brief general Upendra Dwivedi about counter-terrorism operations that are being carried out across Kashmir Valley and along the Line of Control, as per reports cited by defence officials.

The general officer commanding of the 15 Corps and commanders of the Rashtriya Rifles formations are expected to be present for the high-level review.

Among many, Misri also informed the ambassadors of the country stationed in New Delhi, including Germany, Japan, Poland, the United Kingdom and Russia, about the events that led to the unfortunate terror attack in Pahalgam.

Senior diplomats from the United States the European Union Italy Qatar Japan China Russia Germany and France were seen arriving at the Ministry of External Affairs in South Block, which is situated in the heart of the national capital.

Misri updated the ambassadors of the G20 countries as well as representatives from China and Canada in a 30-minute meeting, as per reports.

The incident also led to a diplomatic outreach, coming on the heels of the announcement of a series of measures that New Delhi was taking in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that left a toll of 26 civilians dead.

In an official statement, the MEA said, “In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect.”
