Army Chief General M M Naravane visites areas of Ladakh to discuss prevailing security scenario.

Taking steps towards strengthening the borders, the Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane visited forward areas in Eastern Ladakh. There, the army chief was briefed on the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness by the Indian Army. According to the sources the Indian Army gave the information regarding the visit of the Army Chief.

General MM Naravane called on Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, "Shri Radha Krishna Mathur" at the Raj Bhavan and discussed the prevailing security scenario in the Union Territory. He displayed his exasperation with the feeble and bureaucratic process for capital acquisitions once again. The Army Chief General M M Naravane on Thursday also stated, “the danger that our long-drawn procurement processes and bureaucratic speed-breakers would prevent us from acquiring cutting edge technology is a real one”. He also called the system of L1, where cheapest bidder gets a contract, a legacy of the colonial era.
