The Argentinian football legend, Diego Maradona, died of a heart attack on November 25 at home. He was 60 and had undergone surgery about a fortnight ago for a blood clot in his brain.

Maradona was among the greatest footballers of all time and his sudden demise has shocked the whole world. Many greater footballers were inspired by him and he was seen as an all time legend.
He won the FIFA World Cup for Argentina in 1986. In the quarter-final match against England in Mexico, it appeared that he pushed the ball through the goalkeeper into the net using his hand. It is recalled as the infamous 'Hand of God' goal.
However, his second goal, a brilliant tackling of the ball from the English defenders was voted 'Goal of the Century.'
Though he was worshipped for his playing abilities among budding footballers, his lifestyle courted controversies for various reasons. He was alleged to have contacts with the mafia and drug lords in Naples, the third-largest city of Italy after Rome and Milan.
Besides, he was allegedly a serial womanizer and a drug addict. He used to depend on alcohol and cocaine.
The Argentinian president Alberto Fernandez has declared three-day mourning in the country. His fans in Argentina and Italy have taken to the streets to mourn the departure of his most beloved footballer.
There are reports of mourning from across the world as he was seen as a living legend of football. He is survived by five children and a wife 58-year-old Claudia Villafane.
