Apple CEO to meet PM Modi regarding first store in India

New Delhi: Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi here as a part of his visit to India to inaugurate the iPhone maker’s first retail store this week.

India’s first official Apple-owned outlets will be opened in Mumbai and Delhi. Tim Cook will attend the ceremony as per sources. Apple has only a 3% market share in India so far. With the new-expanding scheme, it aims at stretching out its market share.

Apart from meeting PM Modi, Tim Cook will be holding interactions with India’s deputy IT minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, as per media reports.

The Prime Minister’s Office has not issued any official statement yet.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the giant smartphone maker opened up its first Mumbai store for bloggers and tech analysts asking for their reviews on designs and layout

The store will be opened to the public from Tuesday once the inauguration ceremony will be done. Its store in New Delhi will be opened on Thursday in a mall
