Anti Theft squad of South West Delhi Police arrested notorious auto lifter cum snatcher

A team of Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) nabbed one wanted accused person Yugant Shivani @ Hero, age 24 yrs, with a motorcycle Honda Shine in Palam Village area as his bike was found to be stolen from Palam Village police station.

The accused Yugant Shivani was wanted in an auto theft case. Further, from his cursory search, 3 stolen mobiles were recovered. With his arrest, AATS of South West District has solved total of 5 cases of auto thefts and mobile thefts with recoveries.

Keeping in view of increasing incidents of motor vehicle thefts & mobile thefts, in the jurisdiction of South West District, a team of AATS comprising of SI Vinod Kumar, ASI Praveen, Ct. Akash, Ct. Ravinder, Ct. Narender led by Insp. Rajesh Malik, AATS, South West Distt, under the overall supervision of ACP/Ops Abhinendra Jain was constituted to gather information about the active auto-lifters/thieves in the South West District.

On 31/01/22, Ct. Akash received a secret tip-off that one wanted auto lifter cum snatcher namely Yugant Shivani @ Hero would come to the Palam area. On this information, a trap was laid and he was apprehended.

Accused Shivani was previously involved in more than 12 cases of MV theft, miscellaneous theft, robbery & snatching.

He is addicted to drugs and for the need, he committed various types of crimes and accordingly commits theft of two-wheelers for wandering and committing snatching or robbery. Accused Yugant Shivani is illiterate and they are three brothers and one sister. His father works as a property dealer and is addicted to liquor.
