Another batch of 4,703 pilgrims leave for the holy Amarnath cave from Jammu
The pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas here in 156 vehicles amid tight security of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), officials said.

Amid tight security, another batch of 4,703 pilgrims left for the holy Amarnath cave at an altitude of 3,880 meters in south Kashmir on Thursday morning to have darshan of Baba Barfani. Officials have given this information.
He said 2,001 pilgrims headed for the Baltal base camp were the first to leave in 54 vehicles. After this, a second convoy of 102 vehicles carrying 2,702 pilgrims left for the Pahalgam camp in Kashmir. Officials said that so far more than 2.20 lakh pilgrims have visited the Shivalinga made of ice in the holy cave.
The 43-day annual pilgrimage to see Baba Barfani began on June 30 from the traditional 48-km-long Nunwan route in Pahalgam in south Kashmir and the 14-km-long Baltal route in central Kashmir's Ganderbal. So far 35 people have died due to various reasons during the journey. Apart from these, 15 pilgrims lost their lives in the flash floods near the cave temple on July 8. Amarnath Yatra will end on August 11 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
