The Central Government on Saturday handed over the investigation of the Umesh Kolhe murder case to the NIA. The Center took this decision after reports emerged that the chemist's murder could be the result of social media posts in support of Nupur Sharma. The NIA will also conduct a thorough investigation into the conspiracy to murder and the connection of the incident to international organizations. Kolhe was murdered on the night of June 21 between 10 am and 10.30 pm, when he was returning home on a two-wheeler after closing his shop.
