Youth Congress Workers Protests Against Fuel Price In Different States
Members of the Youth Congress are protesting against rising fuel prices in different states like Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Workers from the Youth Congress demonstrated in BadiChowpatty in Badnawar village, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, against an unexpected increase in the price of petrol goods. During the BJP government's tenure, the price of petrol has surpassed ₹100 in numerous states. In this regard, tehsildar Ajmersingh Gaud received a memorandum addressed to the President.
The J&K Youth Congress also expressed its displeasure with rising petrol costs, which have surpassed Rs 100 in various country regions. The party activists gathered at Bagh-e-Bahu Garden's entrance, led by Latish Sharma, Secretary J&K Youth Congress, and yelled slogans against the BJP government at the Centre.
On Friday, more than 30 members of Congress were arrested for protesting at gas stations across the city, demanding a complete reverse of the fuel price increases. Some members of the Indian Youth Congress protested shirtless outside a petrol station on Janpath, with placards criticizing the increase in fuel prices attached to their chests. Police detained over 30 demonstrators for violating the Covid protocol.
"The government should abolish excise taxes on petrol and diesel. It should be included in the scope of the Goods and Services Tax. The Congress general secretary, Venugopal, stated, "We want a thorough reverse of the fuel price increases."
Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter, "GDP crashing, Unemployment soaring, Fuel prices skyrocketing. In how many more ways is #BJPLootingIndia?"
protesting the rise in Mumbai were seen wearing facemasks with images of Baba Ramdev on them. Ramdev, along with a few other Indian businessmen, has been at the Centre of a storm for some time. The BJP government is being criticized for providing unjustifiable backing to these individuals' businesses.
