‘You Were Trying to Break My Leg’: Rohit Sharma Amazed by Inswing Yorkers in Champions Trophy Nets
This bowler has recently received a master class from the legendary fast bowler from Pakistan, Mohammad Amir.
‘You Were Trying to Break My Leg’: The Indian side carried out two training sessions in Dubai ahead of their Champions Trophy opener versus Bangladesh on Thursday. Rohit Sharma, India's captain and one who has been back to form after scoring 119 in the second ODI against England, looked good during the session and practised his late-cut and touch-shot skills. But this bowler had given him quite a lot of trouble during the latter's nets session, video footage of which went viral.
After the session, Rohit praised local left-arm pacer Awais Ahmad for making Rohit uncomfortable with his inswinging yorkers. Ahmad, 37, is now a target for Rohit, who aspires to become the third Indian captain to lift the Champions Trophy, glorifying Ahmad as a "class bowler" after recently taking a masterclass from veteran Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir."
"Class bowler. Aap humare joota… pair todne ki kosish kar rahe the inswinging yorker maar ke. Badiya bhai badiya. Aap log humko yaha help kar rahe ho, bada acha laga, thank you (You were trying to break my leg. Great bowling. I'm grateful that you all helped us here in training)," Rohit said in the viral video.
In white-ball cricket, Amir troubled Rohit in their 5 international clashes. The left-armer got rid of the Indian batter for just 43 runs—an average of 5.4 runs per over—in 75 balls in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy. Furthermore, Rohit was dismissed twice by Amir in seven balls in T20I cricket.

Rohit Sharma back in form
It was in the Champions Trophy-Pakistan Tour of India-2008 that Rohit was re-born. After an initial career as a middle-order batter from his debut in 2007, he had, under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, been pushed to open during the Champions Trophy of 2013, and the rest is history. Since that period of time, the sluggish 37 now scored in the 9000 of ODIs with an average score of 56.66, and there have been 30 ODIs converted into centuries during the time of 12 years.
Twelve years fast shifting-rohit is probably to be having the last ODI tournament for India; leaving no other way for the Indian great to go off this great format in style. Amidst the tournament, sudden doubts had soared regarding his form, having gone into the tournament with 13 low scores in ODIs. All doubts were put to rest the other day instead of England when he brilliantly vaulted back into form with his counterattacking 119.
