Amruta Fadnavis, wife of former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is of the view that three to four per cent of couples have to face divorce because of the bad condition of the roads and pathetic traffic condition in the city. She makes this statement while talking to the reporters about the poor traffic situation in the city.
"Do you know that three per cent of divorces in Mumbai are due to traffic jams since people are unable to devote time to their families?" Amruta Fadnavis questioned adding that she has personal experience of being troubled by poor traffic situations and potholes on the roads.
She said, "Forget that I am the wife of Devendra Fadnavis. I am talking to you as a woman. I have also experienced traffic on the roads and the potholes and how they trouble us.”
Other leaders and social media mocked her for making such a statement. Among those who poked fun at her comment was Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi, who though didn’t name ex-CM’s wife directly yet called that her statement should get the Best (il)logic of the day award.
"Best (il)logic of the day award goes to the lady who claims 3% Mumbaikars are divorcing due to traffic on roads. Please take a holiday break rather than having a mind on brake..," she said. Bengaluru families please avoid reading this, can prove fatal for your marriages," Chaturvedi wrote on her Twitter handle.
