According to the Wall Street Journal report, a UAE official said that it was re-evaluated due to technical requirements, operational restrictions and cost-benefit analysis.The Associated Press reported that the US embassy said the UAE would suspend discussions on the sale, while meetings between the two sides at the Pentagon on other issues later this week would go ahead as planned.
Earlier, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the US partnership with the United Arab Emirates was more strategic than arms sales. He said that we will always emphasize on statutory requirements and various types of final requirements in terms of policy.
