World Health Organization (WHO) chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan said on Friday that the Covid-19 epidemic has not yet finished. She said that more variants of corona virus are yet to come. Swaminathan also accompanied WHO Director General Tedros Adhanam Ghebreyesus to take stock of South Africa's vaccine manufacturing facility.
A new variant of the corona virus can arise anytime, anywhere and we can return to the same situation again. In view of this, we still need to take precautions. Hopefully by the end of 2022 we will be in a better position.
Swaminathan further said that when the number of corona infected in the world had reached only 100, only then there was a warning from WHO but at that time no one took our warning seriously. At the same time, if all the countries had taken appropriate steps, then the loss we are facing so far might not have been that much. He further said that we have seen how Corona has caused havoc in America and Europe.
