This is the same Amethi which was once known for its industrial institutions and was considered to be the stronghold of the Gandhi family, but here too, the BJP gradually took hold. In 2017, there are three MLAs elected from the BJP and reached the assembly while in 2019. BJP got an unexpected victory from here when Smriti Irani became MP defeating Rahul Gandhi.
Congress worker Shubham Singh, who came to Amethi's Jagdishpur to listen to Rahul Gandhi-Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, said that "the people of Amethi have told that it has always been a stronghold of the Gandhi family. What youth asks for - employment. BJP has got its work counted.
