West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has removed Partha Chatterjee from the post of minister. In a press release of the Government of West Bengal, it was informed that Partha Chatterjee is being relieved of all responsibilities with immediate effect.
Significantly, two days ago on the arrest of West Bengal government minister Partha Chatterjee in the teacher recruitment scam, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that she does not support corruption or any wrongdoing. Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Saturday in an alleged money laundering case related to the teacher recruitment scam. The arrest was made after Rs 20 crore was recovered from Parth's close aide Arpita. Arpita has also been arrested in the case.
