Weather Update: Rain will continue in these states including Delhi-UP till Monday, IMD alert in hilly states
The heat has dropped due to continuous rain. On Saturday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius, seven notches below normal and the minimum temperature was recorded at 22.6 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
Due to the continuous rain for three days in the national capital Delhi, there has been waterlogging at many places. Meteorologists have predicted the continuation of rain on Sunday as well. Traffic was affected in many parts of the city on Saturday due to rain. Vehicles were seen plying on several major roads. Delhi's main meteorological station Safdarjung Observatory recorded six mm of rain after 8.30 am on Saturday. The heat has dropped due to continuous rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin said that there is a possibility of light rain with cloudy sky in the capital on Sunday as well. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate intensity rain occurred in Delhi and National Capital Region (Hindon Air Force Base, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabgarh) on Saturday. According to the data shared by the IMD, the relative humidity was recorded at 100 per cent at 5.30 pm.
The India Meteorological Department also issued a 'yellow' alert for Saturday in Delhi. On this day, there was light rain in most areas and heavy rain in some places in Delhi. The traffic police of Delhi had advised people to travel in view of the jam situation. According to the traffic helpline, they received 16 complaints related to traffic jams, three complaints about waterlogging and five trees falling. According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 41 at around 7 pm, which falls in the 'good' category.
