We are backward in the battlefield against Corona

Till Friday, more than 1200 cases of Omicron have been reported in India. The Delhi government has issued information that the community spread of Omicron variant has started in the capital. Of the new cases of corona in Delhi, 46% are from Omicron.

Amidst all this, the Global Health Security Index (GHS) in its report has expressed concern over India's arrangements to fight epidemics. In this report, India has fallen from 57 ranks to 66 ranks as compared to 2019. Research suggests that India is least prepared among all the BRICS countries to deal with the third wave.

An organization named John Hopkins releases reports every year on the health systems of about 195 countries of the world. The name of this report is Global Health Security (GHS). In this report, the ranking has been released on the basis of the preparedness of all the countries to fight against the epidemic.
