Vaccine preparation is in final stage: PM while laying the foundation stone of AIIMS Rajkot

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that his government is making all necessary preparations to supply the vaccine in every nook and corner of the country and it is in the final stage.

PM Modi said this while laying the foundation stone of AIIMS Rajkot through video conferencing. He said that AIIMS Rajkot will further strengthen the existing infrastructure along with creating new job opportunities in the country.

According to him, the opening of new AIIMS will create 5000 jobs directly and many other employment opportunities indirectly.

The PM also praised the efforts of the state government in containing the spread of the virus and said that the state has shown the path in fighting Covid-19. PM Modi gave credit to the robust medical infrastructure of the state.

“Two decades of relentless effort, dedication, and resolve are behind this success of Gujarat in the medical sector,” he said.

He ensures that the health agencies in India are ready to run the world’s largest immunization campaign.

He has appealed to people to work together and move forward to make the vaccination programme as successful as infection prevention initiatives in the country.

Lauding the efforts taken by his government, PM Modi said that there were only six AIIMS in India decades after independence but during the previous NDA regime under the leadership of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003, six new AIIMS were set up.

He also said that during the past six years, work on 10 new AIIMS have started and many have been inaugurated.

“Along with AIIMS, 20 Super Specialty Hospitals are also being constructed,” PM Modi said.
