The death toll in rain-related crashes in Uttarakhand rose to 16 on Tuesday. Amid continued heavy rains in Uttrakhand, a bridge over the Gaula River in Haldwani was partially damaged. In addition to this, a bridge under construction over a Chalthi River in Champawat was also washed away. The Chardham Devasthanam Board temporarily shut down the Char Dham Yatra in anticipation of the heavy rain warning issued by the Uttarakhand Meteorological Department in October 1719.
