Uttar Pradesh News: Children die before the age of 5 in UP

Out of every 1000 children born in Uttar Pradesh, about 60 children die before the age of five. According to the data released by the National Family Health Survey (NFSH 5) and the World Bank, a same situation is also in Afghanistan.

In India, apart from Uttar Pradesh, 56.4 children die before 5 years in Bihar and 50.4 in Chhattisgarh per 1000 children. Apart from this, this figure is 3.9/1,000 in Puducherry, 10.6/1,000 in Goa and 5.6/1,000 in Kerala.

Indian states have higher kid mortality rates than only 27 of the 194 countries for which 2019 figures are available.In this condition, the child is small for his age and weight is low for his height, which are indicators of the nutritional level of the child. According to experts, malnutrition is linked to high mortality rates, among other reasons.
