Uttar Pradesh: How electoral equations are changing in Saharanpur?
The northernmost district of (Uttar Pradesh), Saharanpur has witnessed a major political upheaval within the last three days in which four big leaders of the district have changed their political course. On January 10, Nauman Masood, the ticket candidate of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) from Gangoh, switched to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

On January 12, three big leaders of Congress left the party.Former MLA and National Secretary of Congress Imran Masood joins Samajwadi Party (SP),Congress MLA from Saharanpur Masood Akhtar joins SP, Congress MLA from Behat Naresh Saini joined BJP.
BSP has been a strong player in Saharanpur district since 1996. BSP President Mayawati contested and won from Harora seat in the district in 1996 and 2002.
