US Embassy Warns Visa Holders: US embassy in India Saturday issued a saying that visa holders may continue to be screened by the US even after they have been issued a visa and they can be revoked in any case they break rules.

The quote is in resemblance to the US administration under President Donald Trump moving to stipulate strict observance to its immigration policies and reaffirm that holders of visas should observe every law to the latter as far as their stay in the country is concerned.

"U.S. visa screening does not stop after a visa is issued. We continuously check visa holders to ensure they follow all U.S. laws and immigration rules - and we will revoke their visas and deport them if they don't," the US embassy said in a post on X.

During the due process of the past few weeks, there has been a stream of statements published in the US Embassy in India relating to of visa and immigration matters.

The US embassy in India had issued an advisory on this on June 28 saying that such individuals who are staying in the US without any authorization or who have committed visa fraud will be held liable.

The embassy of the US had also said on X that whoever infringes the US law will receive serious criminal charges.

"Those who are in the United States illegally or commit visa fraud will be held responsible. If you break U.S. law, you will be punished with significant criminal penalties," the embassy said in its post.

The statement by the embassy was made in the backdrop of an immigration crackdown by the Trump administration in Los Angeles in California, recently.

His embassy had previously on June 19 said that a US visa is not a right but a privilege and the reviews cease after a visa is granted and the authorities can take it back in the case one violates the law.

The US requested the applicants on June 26, to provide their usernames or handles of every social media platform they used over the past five years.

"Visa applicants are required to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used from the last 5 years on the DS-160 visa application form. Applicants certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit," a statement which was posted on X read.

"Omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas," it added.
