On Tuesday, the trailer of the film "Badhaai Do" was released which featured actors Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pedneker. The makers of the film have stated that the movie is kind of like a successor to the movie, "Badhaai Ho." As promulgated by the trailer, the movie is based on the concept of homosexuality, but the presentation, and the theme looked absolutely unique. The fans have hailed the trailer as absolutely promising.
From as much as the trailer revealed, Rajkummar Rao plays Shardul Thakur, a cop in the ‘mahila police station’ while Bhumi Pednekar’s Suman is a PT teacher. Shardul has been asking Suman to marry him for the last four years, saying he understands. Both of their parents have been forcing their children to marry as they have crossed the age of 30, but neither Shardul nor Suman agrees. The trailer then reveals that Suman actually has a girlfriend, and that is when we know what was Shardul saying when he said, "I Understand". When it is revealed that Suman likes women, Shardul confesses that he likes men. The best part about the trailer was that it also featured Pride Parade. Instead of coming out, Shardul and Suman decide to marry and live like roommates, so their parents stop shoving the term marriage down their throat.
The trailer is important for a lot of different reasons. Not only does it elaborates the concept of Lavender Marriage, but also features "Chum Darang", an actress from the north east. The representation of actors and actresses from the North east is entirely absent from the Hindi Film Industry, and this movie is an attempt to change that and start up important conversations.
