Traffic Advisory: Many roads will remain closed in Delhi due to Independence Day celebrations

Independence Day full dress rehearsal day on 13th August and Independence Day celebrations on 15th August at Red Fort. Due to this, many roads will be closed, while traffic will be diverted on many routes. Delhi Traffic Police officials have advised to avoid coming towards Red Fort on both the days.

Many routes will remain closed for general traffic from 4 am to 10 am on both the days. Only labeled vehicles will be allowed on these routes. These routes are- Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chhata Rail, Lothian Road GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail, S.P.Mukherjee Marg from H.C.Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk, Chandni Chowk Road from Fountain Chowk to Red Fort. , Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Marg, Nishad Raj Marg, Esplanade Road and its Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT and Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover ie Salimgarh Bypass.

These borders will remain closed on the days of full dress rehearsal ie 12th and 13th August from 10 pm to 11 am and on 15th August from 10 pm to 14th August till the program ends the next day. These borders are- Noida Border, Loni Border, Singhu Border, Ghazipur Border, Badarpur Border, Safia Border, Maharajpur Border, Aya Nagar Border, Auchandi Border, Surya Nagar Border, Rajokri Border, Dhansa Border, Apsara Border, Kalindi Kunj Border, Jharoda Border, Bhopura Border, Lal Kuan Pul Prahlad Pur Border and Tikri Border. Buses will be converted from these routes. GT Road/ISBT Kashmere Gate Bridge - Buses going to Kodiapur, Red Fort, Old Delhi Railway Station will operate via ISBT Bridge (Yudhisthir Setu). Boulevard Road and Mori Gate will end near U-turn.

Buses from South Delhi to Red Fort, Old Delhi Railway Station, Bhai Mati Das Chowk (Fountain) will be diverted via Ring Road-NH-24, Seemant Dam (Pushta) Road, New ISBT Bridge and terminate at Boulevard Road. All buses terminating at Old Delhi Railway Station, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Kodia Bridge will terminate on Boulevard Road till Mori Gate.
