The 76-year-old actor in a recent interview talked about her personal life and how she lost 100 pounds in just six years. She said, "It's been a game changer for me. I honestly don't think I've been this slim since my college days."
Kathy Bates shares that when he was overweight, she faced a lot of difficulties, especially during the shooting of Harry's Law in 2011, she added, "I had to sit down every chance I got. Walking became really difficult," she recalled.
“I'm embarrassed that I let myself get so out of shape, but now I have a tremendous amount of energy.”

The Titanic star revealed that her transformation happened over time. Earlier in 2019, she shared about achieving a new milestone of shredding 60 pounds of weight.
She added, "I was facing diabetes—it runs in my family—and I really didn't want to deal with that.”
Bates expressed how she felt good and proud at that time, adding, "I'm in the best health I've been in for years," and called her transformation journey "a miracle."
Kathy Bates also added that her niece also supported her during the weight loss journey, Bates's niece taught her simple and effective exercises that helped her a lot. While speaking about it with ‘Extra’, she said, “After eating for 20 to 30 minutes, you experience an involuntary sigh. It's your body's way of telling you that your stomach and brain are communicating—you've had enough."

The Academy Award winner added by keeping track of that sign and putting her plate away for just 5 minutes, she found that she felt full and wasn’t required to eat more.
This small step made a huge difference in her way of eating.
In 2019, Kathy Bates in a chat with ‘People’ talked about how she boosted her stamina. She shared that her transformation helped her significantly to deal with her post-cancer lymphedema which is a serious illness that causes the limbs to swell and retain fluid.
In a chat with Us Weekly, Kathy Bates shared that being patient helped her a lot during the transformation journey. She even stopped consuming junk food and drink. She added, "It took a few years," she explained, emphasizing that it wasn't a quick fix. "You have to be really patient … I don't like the word willpower, but I prefer the word determination."
