Swiggy Wants ‘Cheeku 2016 Version’: Former India batter Robin Uthappa feels Virat Kohli is more worried about middling the ball instead of scoring runs at the moment. Kohli’s search for a big knock continued as he once again got dismissed cheaply against Bangladesh for 22 (38) in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Thursday, February 20 in Dubai.
He walked into bat on 69/1 after a solid start from captain Rohit Sharma (41 off 36). However, the star batter failed to get going, playing nine dot deliveries on the trot against Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. After getting off the mark on his tenth delivery, he was further troubled by Rishad Hossain.
Furthermore, with his 22-run knock, Kohli moved past Ricky Ponting and became the second-highest run-scorer in ICC events as well. Kohli also etched his name in an unwanted record among the glorious records. Another dismissal against a leg spinner meant that the 36-year-old became the player with the most dismissals against leg spinners in ODI cricket.

Interestingly, this was Kohli's 23rd dismissal against leg spinners. He is followed by Mushfiqur Rahim and Kane Williamson, who have 22 dismissals each. Shakib Al Hasan sits in third place with 20 dismissals.
Since the end of the 2023 ODI World Cup, Kohli has managed 137 runs in six innings. Kohli was slow to get off the blocks on Thursday in Dubai. He looked like a pale shadow of his old self, and his 22-run innings was cut short by the Bangladesh spinner.

The Indian batter moved deep into his crease, trying to create space for a cut shot, but failed to keep the ball down. The shot went straight to Soumya Sarkar at short third, who took an easy catch.
However, the resilience of Shubman Gill, who scored his second consecutive ODI ton, and KL Rahul's performance propelled the Indian team to a resounding win. India chased down the target in 46.3 overs and won the game by six wickets.
