Sweden can be a part of our efforts to expand the Indian economy: Piyush Goyal
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has expressed these views in the CEO Forum of India-Sweden strategic business partnership.
India is looking forward to strengthening its ties with one of the European Union countries, ie, Sweden.
India strongly believes that if the two countries will work together, it will help build a more resilient and strong economic partnership.

The Minister said that 2020 has been a challenging year for every country in the world. He referred to the Covid-19 pandemic which has disrupted all economies across the world and created a plethora of problems on all fronts.
However, the minister believes that this crisis can be converted into an opportunity if India and Sweden engage each other.
“We would like Sweden to be a part of our efforts to expand the Indian economy, to reach a higher level of prosperity & design an India suitable for global engagement in the modern 21st-century world,” the minister said.
He added that if the CEO forum can pave the way for expanding the friendship between the two countries which will further help to make Sweden an essential part of India’s own growing economy.
Goyal has also emphasized that a country of 1.35 billion people provides an opportunity for huge business opportunities.
“I am sure Swedish companies would love to work in India ND explore better opportunities. We believe our renewed focus on technology will help us re-align India's priorities and Sweden will have an important role to play, being our natural partner for innovation and growth,” Goyal said.
