Sushmita Sen conferred the Social Welfare and Empowerment National Award

On Friday, Sushmita Sen took to Instagram to share some exciting news. The actress revealed that she is awarded a National Award on social media platforms. The actress held an Instagram Live session in which she shared her big achievement with fans and was joined by members of her family. Sushmita appears in the video with her boyfriend Rohman Shawl and her two daughters, Renee and Alisah. The actress began the video by announcing that she had been honoured for her contributions to social welfare and women's empowerment.

It is a national honour.” The actress also announced the title of the award she won, 'champions of transformation.' “I know my father would be proud as he served our nation as an officer of the Indian Air Force for many, many years,” she said of her father.

The actress said a heartfelt line about how becoming a woman is a blessing from God, "As I said in my acceptance speech today, to be born a woman is a huge gift from God, but to be in service of women, now that is a privilege."
