The actress held an Instagram Live session in which she shared her big achievement with fans and was joined by members of her family. Sushmita appears in the video with her boyfriend Rohman Shawl and her two daughters, Renee and Alisah. The actress began the video by announcing that she had been honoured for her contributions to social welfare and women's empowerment.

The actress said a heartfelt line about how becoming a woman is a blessing from God, "As I said in my acceptance speech today, to be born a woman is a huge gift from God, but to be in service of women, now that is a privilege."
