Supreme Court Denies Ranveer Allahbadia’s Passport Release Until ‘India’s Got Latent’ Probe Concludes
An amendment in the condition for deposit of his passport was sought by Ranveer Allahbadia, stating that it affected his livelihood.
Supreme Court Denies Ranveer Allahbadia’s Passport Release: The Supreme Court will deliberate on YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia's petition for the release of his passport in another two weeks, in pursuance of PTI reports.
The case was then taken up by the court after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated that the investigation would likely be over in two weeks.

Senior counsel Abhinav Chandrachud, acting for Ranveer Allahbadia, further duly prayed that Bank's direction regarding the deposit of his passport should be modified, as the same was affecting his livelihood.
According to the PTI, he also filed an undertaking in the Supreme Court that would guarantee decency in his shows.
The senior counsel argued that Allahbadia's work involves travelling abroad for interviews with various people, which would require repeated meetings.
The court voiced that if Allahbadia did leave, it would surely interfere with the investigation, and inquired from the SG Tushar Mehta, appearing for both Maharashtra and Assam governments, how long the investigation was likely to take.
Mehta stated that he did not intend to seek any instruction on the matter. However, he estimated the investigation would likely be completed within two weeks, as reported by PTI.
On March 3, the Supreme Court granted Ranveer Allahbadia permission to start uploading his podcasts and shows on social media while additionally ordering him to present an undertaking that the podcast will maintain 'morality and decency' and will be appropriate for all age groups.
Ranveer Allahbadia, known for the YouTube channel 'BeerBiceps', hit a big controversy regarding comments made about parents and sex on the since-deleted YouTube show hosted by comedian Samay Raina titled 'India's Got Latent'. The statements resulted in several FIRs against Allahbadia.
Later on, Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apology admitting that he should not have said what he did in the joking manner he did. Samay Raina has deleted all episodes of his show from his YouTube channel, which had millions of views.
