Sundar Pichai Confirms JioPhone Next on Track for Diwali Launch

Sundar Pichai said the JioPhone Next will be launched in India by Diwali. Google's CEO confirmed the entry-level smartphone's launch schedule during Alphabet's earnings call on Wednesday. The statement confirms speculation about the launch date of the Jio phone in the country after several delays.

JioPhone Next was first announced by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the company's annual general meeting in June. At the time, Ambani referred to a phone launch date of September 10, coinciding with the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Since then, the phone has experienced several delays due to the continued shortage of chips around the world.

Pichai has currently confirmed the launch window for the JioPhone Next. throughout the Alphabet' earnings call, Pichai same that Google has created progress with the "Made for India cheap smartphone" which the device is "on track to launch within the market by Diwali."
