Sumit Antil Wins Gold In Javelin Throw With A World Record
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has congratulated Sumit Antil for winning the Gold medal in Javelin throw. He made a World Record with a throw of 68.55 Meters in the F64 category of Javelin Throw. This is India’s second Gold medal, in the morning Avani Lekhara has won the Gold in the Shooting championship.
New Delhi: Sumit Antil gave India the second Gold medal in Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020. He made World Record with a throw of 68.55 Meters in the F64 category of Javelin Throw. This is India’s second Gold medal, in the morning Avani Lekhara has won the Gold in the Shooting championship. 23 years old from Sonepat, Sumit is the World no. 1 in the F64 category. He lost his left leg below the knee in a motorbike accident in 2015.
India has got the third medal in Javelin Throw, earlier India’s legendary Javelin Thrower Devendra Jhajhariya went on to get his third Paralympic Medal in Tokyo and won the prestigious Silver medal in the F46 category with a personal best throw of 64.35m. What is more, India also went on to win the Bronze medal at the same event, with Rajasthan’s Sundar Singh Gurjar throwing his season-best throw of 64.01m to take the 3rd spot.
