31 Ministers Inducted in Bihar Cabinet as RJD Gets Major Share; 2 Berths Alloted to Cong as JD(U) Gets 11

Nitish cabinet expanded in Bihar today. And after some time the departments were divided. The Chief Minister has kept 5 departments including the Home, and General Administration with him. On the other hand, Tejashwi has got the responsibility for health, road construction, city development, and rural work. Lalu's elder son Tej Pratap has got the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. RJD MLAs Anita Devi and Sudhakar Singh and others take oaths as ministers in the Bihar cabinet.
Governor Fagu Chauhan administered the oath to 31 ministers at Raj Bhavan. The ministers took oath in batches of five each. Out of the total 31 MLAs who became ministers, a maximum of 16 are from RJD, 11 from JDU, 2 from Congress, one from us, and one independent. Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son Tej Pratap was among the first 5 MLAs to take the oath.
In the new government of the Grand Alliance, ministers have been made keeping in mind the social equation. OBC-EBC has the highest number of 17, Dalits - 5 and Muslims - 5. The representation of the forward castes has decreased this time as compared to the NDA alliance. Last time there were 11 ministers of upper caste, which has come down to 6 this time. At the same time, there were 13 ministers from OBC-EBC, while Muslims were included in 2 cabinets.
All castes have been given representation in the cabinet. However, most of the focus has been on OBC and EBC. Talking about caste, 8 MLAs from the Yadav caste are included in the cabinet this time. 7 from RJD and one Yadav MLA from JDU have become ministers. In the previous cabinet, there were only 2 ministers from this caste.
